Discover Restaurante Esfahan

Located in the heart of Madrid, Restaurante Esfahan offers a unique dining experience that brings the vibrant flavors of Persian cuisine to the city. Situated at C. de San Bernardino, 1, Centro, this charming eatery has become a go-to spot for locals and tourists alike who are looking for something different from the typical Spanish fare. Whether you're a connoisseur of Persian food or someone looking to try it for the first time, Restaurante Esfahan is sure to leave a lasting impression.

The moment you walk into Restaurante Esfahan, you're transported to a warm, welcoming atmosphere that combines traditional Persian decor with modern touches. The interior exudes a cozy yet sophisticated vibe, with rich colors, intricate tilework, and soft lighting creating an inviting space. The restaurant is a perfect spot for a casual meal with friends or a special celebration.

One of the standout features of Restaurante Esfahan is its menu, which offers a wide array of Persian dishes made with the finest ingredients. From savory stews and grilled meats to aromatic rice dishes, there's something to satisfy every palate. The menu features traditional Persian specialties like kebab, fesenjan, and khoresht, as well as a variety of vegetarian options such as mirza ghasemi and kuku sabzi.

A must-try dish at Restaurante Esfahan is the chelo kebab, a signature Persian dish consisting of skewered meat grilled to perfection and served with fluffy, fragrant rice. The kebabs are made from high-quality lamb or chicken, marinated in a blend of aromatic spices that give them a rich, savory flavor. Pair it with a side of sabzi khordan (fresh herbs) and mast-o-khiar (yogurt with cucumber) for a complete, authentic Persian meal.

For those looking to explore a variety of flavors, the polo dishes are also highly recommended. These Persian rice dishes come with a range of toppings, such as saffron, barberries, or vegetables, making each bite a delightful experience. The rice is perfectly cooked, light and fluffy, and provides the perfect base for the rich and flavorful stews that accompany it.

Vegetarian diners will find plenty of options at Restaurante Esfahan. The mirza ghasemi, a smoky eggplant and tomato dish, is a favorite among vegetarians, as is the kuku sabzi, a Persian herb frittata packed with fresh greens and spices. Both dishes highlight the vibrant flavors of Persian cuisine and demonstrate the restaurant's commitment to using fresh, quality ingredients.

When it comes to drinks, Restaurante Esfahan offers a selection of traditional Persian beverages, such as doogh (a yogurt-based drink) and sharbat (fruit syrup drinks). For dessert, you can indulge in Persian sweets like baklava, saffron ice cream, or faloodeh (a refreshing dessert made with thin noodles, rosewater, and lime).

Customer reviews consistently praise the restaurant for its exceptional service and authentic flavors. Many visitors appreciate the friendly staff, who are always eager to explain the menu and offer recommendations. The attention to detail in both the food and the dining experience makes Restaurante Esfahan stand out as a top choice for Persian cuisine in Madrid.

Whether you're a longtime fan of Persian food or trying it for the first time, Restaurante Esfahan provides an unforgettable culinary experience. With its warm ambiance, delicious food, and attentive service, it’s a restaurant that brings the heart of Persia to the heart of Madrid.

  • Best Persian Kabob in Madrid. Great service, very friendly Great price, everything we tried was delicious. Kabob was juicy. I asked for medium rare Barg kabob and it was amazing. I can’t wait to go back.

  • Very popular restaurant with a great mix of people dining there. Olives served on seating. Tried the moussaka which was very tasty, but probably heated in the microwave since the meal was very hot in some areas and warm in others. Kebabs and sweet rice were amazing, and served with bread. Tea and an assortment of pastries/ ice cream for deserts, really nice. Fast friendly service, good prices. Menu only in Spanish, but photos help and so does Google Translate. Not the first time I’ve tried Iranian cuisine and it won’t be the last, I recommend visiting

  • They offer indoor dining and close from 4-8 PM. The atmosphere is very pleasant and closely reflects Persian culture and history. The waiters are friendly, professional, and have a good sense of humor. We ordered the okra stew, Kaf Cazi, and dough—they were all delicious.

  • We were in Spain for 2 weeks, and Esfahan was one of our best food experiences. The owner was amazingly hospital, and gave great food suggestions. Just get everything he recommends (we were recommended a starter and the mixed grill). Amazing! Finished the meal off with tea and baklava. We stumbled upon this restaurant, so thankful we did. Definitely recommend.
